Problem
Tractor leasing operators and fleet owners lost income due to untracked machinery hours, missing payment records, and ruined paper logbooks. Disputes over unpaid work and lack of documentation led to substantial revenue leakage.
Research
Conducted interviews with fleet operators and logistics owners. Identified three critical missing pieces: structured leasing billing, operator session tracking, and implement (machinery attachment) logging. Existing paper logbooks regularly failed due to environmental conditions.
Solution
Built Tractor Pro — an offline-first Android app for heavy machinery leasing and operator management. Sessions are logged in real-time with implement type, work duration, rate, and operator details. Billing summaries are auto-generated and stored locally — no internet required.
Architecture
AI Workflow
Used Claude AI for architecture planning and data model design. Cursor accelerated component scaffolding and state management patterns. AI assisted in iterating Compose UI layouts to match real-world operator workflows.
Result
Operators can now track all leasing sessions, generate billing summaries, and follow up on payments — all without internet. The app eliminates disputes and gives both leasing companies and customers a shared source of truth.
